About the Zombie Scrum Resistance

Great to have you here! Scrum is HUGE. Its a massive hype. Every organization wants to be part of this new movement. That’s great news. Except for the fact that many organizations and teams think they’re doing Scrum, while they’re not. Sure, there is a Scrum Master, a Product Owner and the teams go through the Scrum Events. But there’s no working software at the end of a sprint. There’s no drive to improve. No involvement of customers, and no actual users are present during development. This might look like Scrum from the surface. But it isn’t.

We are Johannes Schartau, Christiaan Verwijs and Barry Overeem. As Scrum Masters, Scrum Trainers and Agile Coaches we’ve trained, coached and assisted hundreds of Scrum Teams and organizations. We’ve seen our fair share of Zombie Scrum. And it seems their number is growing, as more and more companies try to jump on the bandwagon. That’s why we decided to set up a simple, dedicated blog. Here you’ll find all you need to know about Zombie Scrum and — most importantly — what to do about it.
