If you work in complex environments, where work is unpredictable, what makes the most sense? That a product goal is static or that it naturally changes and evolves as you discover more while you work towards the goal?

The same goes for decomposing work during Sprint Planning. Is it necessary as per the guide? No, probably not, but it is helpful to encourage collaboration in your team for the first day (or maybe also the second)?

With all these questions, I always go back to what we're trying to achieve in the first place. On thing that the people behind the Scrum Guide do very diligently, is keep that in mind when changes are made.
